This place is ginormous. It's a great sports bar with tons of tv's and lots of seating!! The look is industrial and the best part is they have slot machines in the front. During football season they have plenty of specials Saturday /Sunday /Monday . Happy Hour is reserected here!! Monday-Friday 3pm - 6pm. Out door seating is pretty plenty with heaters when it gets chilly. The bar is stocked well with many craft beers. The other side of the bar has table and booth seating .

We go here regularly and only once have had poor service. But what I want to tell them is that they have two very wonderful young people working their drive up window. One is a young lady who is going to school to be a pastry chef and the other a young man who wants to be a police officer. They are very personable and outgoing and they do their job very well.

I really like this place - it's close to my work and enjoy going there on my lunch hour with co-workers. There is something for everyone on the menu, and the few things I've tried have all been delicious. The reason I give it only 3 stars is because the service is not so good. Everyone is friendly enough, but they are soooooo slooowwwwww!! Our hour lunches end up being closer to 1.5 hrs. But if you have the time to stop in and have a few drinks and a meal with friends, I would highly recommend dining in.

I don't understand all the bad reviews about this place. We have stopped by for Blackhawks games, Sunday fundays, happy hour during the week. I cannot think of one time when something wasn't good. The staff is always nice and they are very family friendly which is great. The Pizza is super thin and the sauce isn't too sweet. The wings are pretty standard but the buff sauce and blue cheese dressing are above par. My wife loves the goat cheese and marinara dip with pita and I enjoy the rotating craft beers on draft. Best day of the week is Wednesdays where you can get half price pizza all day and between 3p-6pm $5 apps and $3 craft pints and $5 wine. The place itself is freaking amazing, it's clean and has a retractable roof, outdoor seating and more TV's than Best Buy. They already have their NFL Sunday specials up and I saw $12 buckets and a pizza special. Lastly they have a drive thru so you can call in a pizza and pick it up on the way home, how money is that? We live in the neighborhood and think it's a great place and don't understand all the complaints.

I read other reviews prior to my visit, and decided to arrive at an off-peak time to avoid having to compete for my server's attention. I lucked into happy hour with $2 domestic drafts. Bonus! There are quite a few beers on tap, with a variety of bottled beers as well. The server was pretty knowledgeable about the bar menu and that helped me out a lot. The chicken parm was calling my name and I decided on the meal rather than the sandwich because it came with soup and bread and I was hungry. Prices were reasonable for the portion sizes. I started with the house minestrone and it was pretty good, full of chunky vegetables and a rich tomato-y broth. Perfectly seasoned. The only drawback was the awkwardly shaped bowl. It was a squat cylinder and the shape made it increasingly difficult to use the spoon as the bowl emptied. The wide lip on the edge also meant that I couldn't enjoy drinking the last of the broth from the bottom of the bowl. Perhaps I'm a neanderthal, but that's the best part of soup and I missed out. Unfortunately, my chicken Parmesan meal was disappointing. The spaghetti was a tad overcooked, as was the chicken. It was also smothered in mozzarella, when a sprinkling of shredded fresh parm would have been so much better. I did like that I was given a choice between breaded or grilled chicken and the red sauce was hearty and thick if bland. I had to add red pepper flakes just for a little flavor. I asked my server for recommendations on dessert and the dessert trio was big winner. I chose the mini cannoli, carrot cake and the brownie. The brownie was the highlight of my evening. The carrot cake looked and tasted factory made. The cannoli filling was superb but it was tipped with peanuts, not pistachios. The brownie was Mmmmm. Heaven on a fork. It was fudgy and warm and served with extra chocolate sauce. Still, this trio could have been improved with smaller portions. The mini cannoli was the perfect size but the cake and brownie sizes were not ideal for sampling. I will likely return, perhaps to watch a sports game and/or to sample their pizza. I can't give five stars because my meal wasn't great, but it was edible and the service was decent.

Wow this is a beautiful set up! They just opened on Friday. We went in for lunch today and are impressed by the decor and the menu! The staff was great too. We sat on the bar side / near the open retractable roof (just beautiful) and watched some of the World Cup. Will be a great place to watch sports! We split a chopped salad and a meatball sandwich - both very good. We most definitely will be back soon to try out more things on the menu. They have GLUTEN FREE options.

Finally got our food .. Disappointed the food was not hot nor was it how we ordered it OWNERS are you listening to your yelpers.. Would really love to see this place thrive You need more staff and spend the time training them Also the kitchen needs to have someone oversee the orders that they are served fresh and hot to the tables .... Don't know if we will be back... I wiuld rather drive to the Higgens location until i see better reviews Oh i was so looking forward to

Place needs an attitude adjustment. First few times it was OK because of the fact that you can watch big UFC fights with no cover charge. Food and service at best were average but this last experience has made me knock it down to one star. We sat at the bar and ordered a pizza. We watch it come out and the bus boy gives it to the wrong people and they begin to pick up slices with their bare hands and throw it on their plates. Before they could start eating, the bus boy noticed it's not their pizza and rushes over to stop them. Again with their bare hands they throw the slices back on the pizza tray and the bus boy tells the bartender to give it to us and takes off behind the kitchen. We let the bartender know what just happened, expecting him to give us a new pizza and chuck this one away. But he leaves it in front of us and tells us he will see what he can do. After 20 min with an attitude he tells us that he can give us 50% off. Would have been quicker just to get another pizza ordered. Like I said if it wasn't for occasional UFC fight, this place would have gotten zero stars from me.

Just left the place and im extremely upset! Horrible food and horribly slow service! Place was empty, we waited forever for the food and it was undercooked!! Special "Irish cabbage dish" was awful and over salted... You would think that a meal on "specials" list would be prepared correctly!

Stopped in Saturday for lunch. Great decor, good food and service. .Our waitress Sandy was friendly and fun. Would go back and recommend to others. Liked the fact that there was some gluten free options.

Went for a family dinner, service was good, food was okay, except for the strand of hair that came with my fried fish. Sorry, but we will not be returning. Stick with the pizza.

We've had their thin crust pizza, wings, veggie wrap, and ribs and loved all of it! The food was quickly delivered well under the hour. We are definitely going to continue to order from here.

This place is absolutely stunning! From the authentic Italian and barbecue food, to the rustic decor, D'agostino's is now one of my favorite places to eat! Been here over 6 times since it has opened up and every time has been a great experience. Not only is the service top notch but the food makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Love love love, if you are in the mood for spectacular food and an atmosphere that will blow your mind, this is the place!! Love the smokehouse pizza and brisket sliders :) Also the fried oatmeal cream pie dessert is like fireworks in my mouth!! Don't let some of these negative reviews steer you away from this diamond in the ruff!

I loved the decor of this place, and it is definitely the nicest "looking" restaurant that's been opened at this restaurant. The food, however, wasn't amazing. I had reservations here for dinner for a girls night. We started with a toasted ravioli appetizer because I had a free coupon, those were delicious. One of the girls ordered wings, which she didn't like. Someone ordered a thin crust pizza which they said was kind of sweet....a sweet tasting pizza? Ehhh. Some of the other girls ordered deep dish which they said was decent. I had a roasted veggie wrap, which I actually enjoyed, but the side of sweet potato fries was sub par. All in all this restaurant is "ok." I would maybe give it another shot. I also feel that they are somewhat on the expensive side. My wrap was $10.95 after tax and the deep dish is more expensive than Lou Malnati's.

I have eaten at other D'Agostino's restaurants and was looking forward to trying their new location. The atmosphere is nice but it is very loud inside. You almost have to yell to have a conversation. The table we sat at we had the air conditioning unit dripping on us. The waitress said that happens a lot. I also had to ask the waitress to wash our table, there was something sticky all over the table. I guess it wasn't washed from the previous diners who ate at the table. GROSS!! The food - nothing special. I doubt I will go there again.

Well...I thought I would give them two chances. We ordered from here (for pick up) and everything was just okay. The girl who answered the phone sounded about 12 and acted like it too. The cheese on the extra-dry Philly Cheesesteak sandwich was completely stuck to the paper, therefore rendering it a boring, not very tasty Philly Steak. The fries were okay. The pizza was just okay. There's definitely better in the neighborhood. I wanted to try one of the salads, so we decided to order the pizza there again too. So, I call and the girl answering the phone was pleasant enough and tells me there's an extra charge for extra dressing. What?! "How much is it?" I'm thinking she's going to say fifty cents, maybe. No. Ninety-five cents! WHAT? With tax, that would be $1.05. So, I ask to talk to a manager. When "Jenny" answers, I asked if she was a manager. "Yes, I am." I said I had decided while on hold for 3 minutes that I would not be ordering tonight because it's ridiculous to charge "a dollar" for extra dressing. Her response? "Umm...it's ninety-five cents!" Are you f'ing kidding me? Done. Done. And done. It was clear there was no reason to continue a conversation with this person who clearly didn't get it. So, I hung up and will never be ordering again. There are way too many other good choices in the neighborhood. Sad because I was really hoping for a successful place to be here this time. If they're successful, it won't be on my dime.

OK so we came and tried a little bit of everything. 1st the BBQ Combo Platter was to die for. Omg was the Italian beef on top of this world. On to the fetuccinni Alfredo with the sausage what a treat. Last but definitely not least the calzone was the best I have ever tasted. If you are out in this area and hungry, this is the place to be. Atmosphere is amazing and the staff is great. Will absolutely be back again....

My family and I have dined here several times, the food very good , the service .... Horrible ! Every single time we have visited .. Today. I asked our waitress ,Klaudia K (who was dressed in street clothes while all the other waitresses were in uniform ) for a glass of Zinfandel , she brought me Sauvignon blanc. Ordered roasted chicken dinner , she asked, " how many pieces of chicken do you want 12 ? I looked at her and said " do you think I can eat12 pieces of chicken?? " the meal came with roasted potato wedges, but I was asked if I wanted a baked potato , when it wasn't offered .. She forgot to ask if I wanted soup or salad .. I thought the meal came with it , so I went to the hostess station and grabbed another menu , only to find I was right .. Called her over and ordered the salad .. We ordered appetizers , she put them down.. Never to been seen buys again, in fact she spent the entire time talking to co workers till our order was up.. Meanwhile , our daughter needed a refill on her soda and she never brought us waters .. When our food was ready , she had someone else carry it over and helped when it got to the table , she took the plate and slid it down the table ,yes hot food on plate.. When asked for a manager on the way out , we were told there is none!,, CLEARLY !!!!! Because if there was a manager perhaps Klaudia K would be doing her job ! This girl was as dumb as a box of rocks!! I gave this place 2 stars because the food is good , get your shit together D'Agostinos or you will lose business ! Not going back!

My husband and I were excited for a new fresh restaurant in this end of Chicago. Not much good choice in this area of town. However, when we saw it was D'Agostino's we were not so excited. We have had several experiences at the one on Higgins...bad food, awful service. But we gave this a try twice. The openness air with the retractable windows is something we like. The first time was within a week of opening. The service was great, but they also had many attentive staff and managers but that was to support the initial opening. Second time not at all. The first time we had good drinks and the wing appetizers were great - they have a slight smoke taste and we really enjoyed them. We then tried the pizza. For us it was too thin and the sauce too sweet. Not our preference so we said we will come back to try the food. The menu is extensive and sure to have something to please everyone. So for our next visit in its 4th week of opening. Limited staff to service and not sure if they even feel a manager is necessary. We get seated immediately. Look over the menu and have are idea of what we want to drink. Then another table is seated next to us. We continue to talk and the table that just got seated has a waitress taking their drink order. We sit a little while longer and 3 waitresses pass us and the table gets served their drinks. No food no drinks to review. And the atmosphere well gave us a headache. Apparently a large table left and it was being cleaned. The bus boy was slamming the chairs on the floor once is an accident but 5 or more times is complete rudeness and disregard for the customers. Were is the manager? It could be heard all over the restaurant. So we got up and told the hostess that we hadn't been waited on but the 2nd couple she sat did. Response, "oh well", no concern if there is no manager to complain to.

Thank God this place closes early....THEE worst food in the area. We honestly thought this place would be a bright spot in the area. We thought wrong . we've tried almost everything on the menu, (don't ask...) NOTHING IS GOOD .dont waste your time. Have a beer , go eat somewhere else

This review is for the drive-thru. Their food is GARBAGE and that's exactly where it went... We spent about 10 bucks on a cheese slice and a combo (slice, fries and soda). The only thing good was the soda. The pizza slice was cardboard with cheese.... and tasted like freezer pizza. Probably because it was. For 3.50 a slice, that's what I'm getting? Your better off going to Baccis and paying 5 bucks for a huge slice with a drink. The fries had no taste. Also from the freezer... you can get that at Costco.... and they tasted like fish... This was by far the nastiest thing I've ever eaten in my life. If your going to have such high prices AT LEAST sell quality food. I will never be wasting my money here again and I'd advise you to do the same. AVOID if you can.... So gross.....

Had the fish and chips...awesomeness. I can't quite figure out why the place is so empty. Maybe take out and delivery are what they do most. Oddly the service was a little slow. In any case, I'll definitely be back again.

We decided to give this place a try, and wow were we impressed. First off, this location has had quite a few previous establishments that were less than average, and this one has so many great things going for it. To start, the atmosphere is so refreshing for River Grove, (they have Gene and Judes and Hala Kahiki going for them) so it was a nice change to have a good food and beer menu. We ordered the pasta and salad, both were very good. Service was excellent and our waitress was very warm and friendly. Love this place!

The staff needs to get it together. Despite the crappy customer service, I've been here 4 times this summer. I love their thin crust pizza and the atmosphere. But their CS needs some serious improvements. They either need a hostess or a sign that says "seat yourself". And if it's a seat yourself kinda place, then servers should be more alert. Today I waited 16 minutes for a menu, and an additional 12 minutes for the waitress to take our order.

We walked in and a server told us they were closed cuz it's slow and there closing early!! So rude!! Than the girl from the take out told us there open she sat us and server comes up and says hey u guys need to order now cuz kitchen is closing!!! We were getting attitude from everyone cuz they wanted to close and we were keeping them!! It was the talk among the staff that it was BS that we were seating!! We had 6 in our party server brought out drinks one at a time!! Didn't use a tray!! Our food came with no silverware service was terrible. The manager was walking around with his hat on backwards with an attitude!! This place is the worst!! We will never come back and will be spreading the word!!!!

Staff was wonderful & very attentive but management is horrible! They keep mailing me coupons but seem to find every reason to find them invalid. After I spent over $40 on food they told me it wasn't valid because I had the daily wine special! I would go there once a week & now I will never go back. It's sad I liked it there but can't stand being taken advantage of.

I used to frequent the Wheeling location, but having moved it is not as convenient anymore. The River Grove restaurant is now the nearest location, so I ventured over to check it out and have a beer, maybe dessert or appetizer Monday nights they have beer specials - mine was two bucks off a glass of the Revolution Brewery beer that they had on tap. Good deal. As I'm enjoying the first beer, I realize that a piece of their delicious cheesecake (as I know it from Wheeling) would wash down great with the brew, so I ask the bartender if the menu in River Grove is the same as the other stores. He says "yes" so I order a piece of cheesecake to which he responded, "except for the dessert menu." Nuts! So I peruse the menu for alternatives and decide to get an order of onion rings. They come out with a chipotle ranch sauce and the honey mustard I asked for as well. The chipotle sauce was pretty good, but the honey mustard, eh, not so much. The rings were poofy with batter - sort of a refreshing difference, but with the poofiness came a little extra grease. I plan to return and see if their pizza is the same as Wheeling's. I like the sweet sauce and crust - it's all a matter of preference as that goes. My bartender was fine - service was good. I'll be sure to update my review after visit number two.

Well.. I wish I can give this place a higher rating but it doesn't deserve it. The food is just blah. Absolutely nothing special. I could make exactly what they made in my own kitchen. As for service.. Not the greatest either. From the outside this place looks like it would be a cool place to come to but it's not. Lastly.. A recommendation would be to have maybe some good deals for happy hour or drink deals. $6 dollar wine isn't that great of a deal considering it's River Grove not downtown Chicago.

We were excited to try this place since it just recently opened, and we had been to the Lakeview location before. Ambiance was nice - Waitress was nice, knowledgeable, speedy with checking on us and bringing drinks - food was delicious and portions were huge! Used a coupon and the prices were fair. Will definitely be back, especially once the weather gets nicer for a beer on the patio!

We tried the Dags on Higgins a few months ago for the first time and even though it wasn't that crowded our waitress seem to ignore us for most of the time. After that I was hesitant to try the one on Thatcher in River grove but my son insisted on having his bday party go there for pizza, so we took our party of 15 teenagers there and I was pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere, fast friendly service, and the delicious pizza. Our server was John and he was very attentive to our needs. I didn't have to ask him for refills on pitchers, or napkins. He earned a 30% tip from me and I would ask for him in future visits. Last night, however, was my second visit to Dags in River Grove. We couldn't get John as our server but ended up getting Nick. I only saw Nick 3 times: when we ordered, when he brought our food, and when he brought our bill. My family had a bad time from the lack of attention, but my biggest complaint was the extremely loud tossing of dishes into the dirty bins. Oh my gosh, I wondered if they were TOLD to make this kind of noise the way it sounded. There were preseason football games on every TV which were loud (which is fine) but those crashing dishes were putting them to shame. I don't know how they didn't break every dish that was carelessly thrown in the bins. Then, when Nick finally blessed us for the last time with his presence to return my credit card, I noticed a note on the bottom of my receipt about "Dags Loyalty Club". I asked Nick about it and he explained what it was. Had I known, I would've joined that when I earned crazy points from my son's party. I asked Nick if I could add that receipt last night since it was so recent I still had it in my purse, he flat out said no. I'm weary to go back to Dags again after this last experience but I can't deny my family's love for the pizza. Maybe some earplugs to drown out the dish-throwing, and sitting close to the kitchen so I can grab what I need while our server is hanging out with the girl in the other room where the second bar is.

I'm honestly shocked by the negative reviews. Our group of friends has made this our new go-to for casual meals. As for some details: -They are very generous with coupons. -The decor and atmosphere is pretty cool. -The drive-through is convenient -2 full bars with a "party" and patio area in the back -Plenty of TVs with various sports -Most importantly, the food: I've tried most of their appetizers. They were all very good, especially the fried mushrooms. They also used to have soft pretzel bites which were amazing. They have plenty of options for pizzas and have never been disappointed. But, while the pizza is supposed to be their flagship, I happen to like their other food more. The gyros and corned beef were awesome and my friends seem to vouch for the burgers. The only negative is that sometimes the young staff is slow and/or forgetful...but it has yet to be a deal-breaker. This isn't supposed to be a fancy place. Family-friendly, sports-focused, good prices...I hope this one survives because this location has been through a TON of restaurants.

I so, so wanted to like this new location of D'Agostino's! After 4 tries I think I'm done. Raw calamari, inconsistent wings, average burgers and weird nachos. I ordered them today, they had been pretty good the first couple of time. But this time and the last it was like they poured a watery cheese soup over the chips. Like tortilla soup. The waitress took them back and brought out a new batch. All they did was put a ton of Parmesan cheese into the weird cheese soup. Kind of like an Alfredo sauce. Yuck. The decor is confusing. One part sports bar, one part nautical theme, one part Vegas. Just a mishmash of decorating ideas. The staff was so nice and apologetic. Overall, I'll go to the one on Higgins or the one on Addison, they do a much better job.

The service is extremely slow. The food is a tad better, then late night Dennys food. and as far as the slot machines. SAVE your money because only friends of the manager's win.!!!!!

The food was not great....the prices way too high...and the kids menu is $6.95 for crappy food and that does not include a drink which is $1.50 so it's about $9.00 for a kids meal...ridiculous

I like this place to watch sport events. Atmosphere is great, TV screen are everywhere. Food is good for a sport bar, but nothing special. You can get a lot of pizza, burgers, wings etc. Bar is great and service is nice. Nice neighborhood sport bar

It's ok. The calamari was crisp but lacked flavor. The pizza sauce was bland and the crust was just ok. It has potential but I don't think I will be back unless it is someone else's idea.

I had high hopes for this place! A new place in town with a retractable roof all sounded good to me...until I went there... It took me since July when I first saw it to finally get there and was so disappointed. Read some reviews before going and was discouraged but decided to try for myself. First we walked in to a EMPTY restaurant during lunch time....uh oh We decided to go with their "wine special" if you call $6 dollar glass of wine a special? Calm down this is river grove. The food was average nothing to write about. Service was quite slow considering we were the only patrons there at the time and still had to ask for the check! The way it's set up in there seems to be the only thing going right in there? Maybe would try it one more time just for drinks on a nice day with the open roof? Totally disappointed!

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I came with a larger party and we ordered a couple or pizzas. Their thin crust was perfect. I loved the goat cheese and peppers pizza. It was perfectly crisp and greasy-just the way I like it. Their staff is also very welcoming and helpful. I'll definitely be back next time I am in that neck of the woods.

Place looks really awesome inside but we only ordered out. The pizza was way over priced for what we got. It was paper thin and not that great at all. I would consider trying something else from their menu but will definately never get a pizza from here again.

Ordered a deep dish pepperoni and green olives for delivery. What we received was a very hard thin crust with an abnormally tall outer crust. There was a half a piece of pepperoni on each slice (no joke) and no sauce on half. I have never been more disappointed in a deep dish pizza in all my life! Being born and raised in Chicago I expect more. Never again.

Ordered a medium deep dish and half of my pizza had little to no sauce on it, there were also multiple slices with zero pepperoni on them even though I paid an extra two bucks for the extra ingredient. This is a sad excuse for a pizza.

My husband and I went here one day, I took my daughter a few days later, she took her brother the next day, and my husband and I went again a day later. Four visits in one week. We need a restaurant like this in this area. I love the thin crust pizza and their salads have been very fresh. The creamy garlic dressing is outstanding. Like the outdoor feel and it's a nice view of St. Joseph's across the street. Highly recommended!

We usually order the bar-b-q chicken pizza which has a slightly sweet and tangy bar-b-q sauce. We once tried their pepperoni pizza, but it was a bit too greasy for my taste. We could see the oil (or "fat") floating on top. No thanks. Their salads are also fairly good and worthy of 4-stars. Like so many others before D'Agostino's Pizza continues to expand its operations. When they start adding new restaurants quality, consistency, customer service and efficiency suffers. This is what I have noticed -- for example, Leona's started expanding around the city, and, as a result, some of their locations closed their doors after a few short years. Sometimes expanding a business sounds like a good idea, but oftentimes, it is not. Service is A-OK = 3 stars. Another Yelp reviewer stated that "nothing ever lasts in this place" which leads me to believe that several other restaurants were at this same location, but did not succeed. Let's change their name to "Dagwood's" since everyone seems to call them "Dag" -- Dang it. I have to give it to them though -- they do thin crust pizza perfectly. If you want Chicago style deep dish pizza this is not the place for deep dish. I recommend you skip it here, and go over to Gino's East or Lou Malnati's for incredibly, delectable deep dish pizza. I wrote a review for their D'Agostino's Park Ridge location, but you can go over there and read my review. Yada-yada-yada......

The bar area of this place is spectacular for some day drinking! Retractable roof?? Yes, please!! Everything we had was tasty and came out quickly. I had had D'Agostino's in the city and hated it, so I was really reluctant to check this place out, but I was very happy that we did! The staff still seemed a little confused as to what was going on, so hopefully they'll shape up. This place has the potential to be awesome if they can get it together. If not, I will come here just to drink and bask on their patio/retractable roof bar area. Can't wait for football season to watch some games here!

We ordered the chicken Parmesan and Italian Grinder and they were awesome! We ordered delivery and the food was still hot...which is not always the case with other restaurants that deliver. Our food was fresh and yummy! We will order again from D'Agostino's. Thanks!

Last night I ordered their buttermilk fried chicken, baked potato, and a salad to go. That was seriously the best chicken I've ever had. The baked potato was moist and delicious. The salad was great too...very fresh. I have to mention the staff too. All smiles, and very friendly! In this day and age, it's nice to have someone say thank you, especially when you're spending your money at their business. I would gladly spend my money there again.

Me and my husband decided to try this place out, as we had a coupon for a free appetizer. We ordered some jalapeno poppers. We never specified how many, and we weren't asked. I also mentioned that we had a coupon for a free appetizer. I also ordered wine, Pinot Noir, but she didn't give me a Pinot Noir, I ended up with a white Mascato... I was too tired to complain. The food was ok, but really nothing special. When it came time for our check was the breaking point. First they didn't accept our coupon for a free appetizer, because they gave us the 10 piece instead of the 6 piece. We never wanted a 10 piece in the first place, but that's what they gave us. So, we asked them to fix it. It took about 25 minutes, when finally the manager got around to fixing our bill. And they STILL didn't comp all of our appetizer, they made us pay for the upgrade to the 10 piece. Seriously??? Also, it was 85 degrees outside and humid, and they had the windows open!!!! Yuck. Food: 2 Stars Customer Service: 0 stars - If I am going to patron a restaurant, do not make me feel like I am an inconvenience, and don't be so cheap when your staff makes a mistake. Our server was nice, but the manager needs to go. When this restaurant closes in a year or two, because they don't have any business due to low customer satisfaction, I won't be surprised.

This place can't get anything right. I called them on the phone and order a pizza and explain to them that I want to eat there. They put me on hold three times. When I got to the place there was no receptionist or hostess in sight so I walked to the bar. After a minute or so the bar tender arrives and after I explained to him that I already ordered he says that I could sit anywhere. After about a ten minute wait the bar tender comes over and takes our drink order. At this time, I count 12 twelve tables of people sitting and one young waitress trying to figure out the computer and constantly playing with her long hair. Not very appetizing. After another 10 minutes I watch as they put our pizza on the kitchen window. It took 12 minutes for the waitress to finally get around to bringing the pizza to the table. This was the first time incidentally that the one waitress in the restaurant actually came to our table. The pizza was very average. After we are done I watch the one waitress walking around constantly playing with her hair while I am trying to get her attention. She can't seem to find her way to our table so I get up, walk up behind the bar area get my own Styrofoam to-go container and then walk back to my table and put the pizza in the container. I then wait another 5 minutes then walk up to the bar tender and tell him what I had so I can pay. I heard someone put a million dollars into this place. The décor is awesome, the food average and the service is complete shit. I went there for dinner 6:00 pm on 31 March and I saw one bar tender and one incompetent waitress in the entire place. This place must make big money on the weekends and must have a very young and naïve crowd because the management is nonexistent and the service is absolute shit. It's sad because I live in River Grove and there are not many good places to eat. I kind of reminds of the Chicago Cubs. They put out an absolute shit product but people go to the games so why change anything. THIS PLACE IS OFF THE LIST. I really don't have time to write reviews like this but I really felt the need to tell someone about this horrible experience.

A few growing pains in this smartly attired place need some serious tweaking. Our deep dish came before the ordered garlic bread (they comped that, but it still showed up on the tab). Deep dish pizza was good, but the couple next to us had the thin crust and it was overly well-done. They ate most of it. You could tell that something was going on in the kitchen, but staff was hustling well even though they could've used more help: Such is success. The interior is a beautiful transformation from what was there before; "Dag's" features big, big screens, a smart digital jukebox and spacious, airiness. A few tables on the exterior allowed a couple with two well-concealed puppies to enjoy their salads (nicely done!). We had a feeling they were short-staffed for a Friday early evening, but that didn't hurt the good vibe of the place. This is a good destination for a cheap date or a friendly stepping-out with friends without driving out of the area. NICE WORK! Yes, we'll be back. The specials are impressive; the Dag's ale is re-order-worthy and it is a miracle in this wasteland out here. Lines are moved through efficiently. Upscale, and aside from the usual opening week fixes, a really, really terrific spot to talk with friends over a good menu.

Welp... as we sit here waiting for our new pizza (yes, new... as in the second one today), i figured i'd write a review on this "new neighborhood place" we just ordered from. We live blocks from this place but felt like staying home so ordered a thin crust pizza and bosco sticks. They arrived in standard time.. husband walked into the kitchen and opened the box to see the pizza was almost folded in half from the "rough ride" over here. Im not sure if this guy hit every pothole on the northwest side of chicago or what but this pizza was barely edible. (We just spent 30 bucks, btw.. no way I'm letting this one slide). My husband called back and got some girl on the phone. He told her about it and she kept repeating my husband as if he wasn't being honest. She even had the audacity to say "well i checked it myself when it left." Sorry lady.. thats not going to change the fact that it arrived borderline folded in half when it made it the six blocks to my house. She reluctantly said she'd be sending a new one and we're currently sitting here trying to tune out our grumbling stomachs. Oh, and in the mean time.. we sat here eating the 4 bosco sticks that barely have any flavor. hummph. First impressions are definitely lasting. PS. i really wish i read the reviews before ordering here. We got bacon on our pizza. :(

I went a couple times to this place the first time it was ok experience and I said to myself I will give it another try. This time I went with friends and have to say I was very disappointed that when the server came up and ask us are we ready to order we said in a minut and she said ok the. We were ready and haven't she the waiter at all for the next 20 minutes the waiter didn't even look at our direction so we all got up and just took our time and started to wait after 30 mins pasted by we just got up and left. Very poor wait and service was bad

Disclaimer: I don't know what it is about restaurants failing left and right and then leaving me feeling so dissatisfied and sometimes even grumpy that I spent money for their shitty food/experience afterwards, but I'm about ready to stop spending my money at them entirely. I started off giving this restaurant 3 stars, but that felt high to me. Then I gave it 2 stars... still too high. I think the best things about this place are not the food or the customer service at all, but it's that it has 2 fully-stocked bars and that there was a chalk board along two walls at each booth which they also provide chalk for you to draw with. I'm not super into drinking any more, and I didn't care to draw on the chalk board, nor do I have kids to share this experience with, but these two details seemed to make the damned place more appealing or refreshing for whatever reason. If you like restaurants that feel chain-style and have glaringly obvious construction flaws because the building/remodel was so hastefully built that you might notice said construction flaws while you're eating and especially when you take a trip to their bathtub-size restroom... this place is for you! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * My Dad and I visited this place just to try it out because we knew this had been the third restaurant in recent years to rent out the very same building - but to put it bluntly, we were disappointed. I was more disappointed with the restaurant than he was because his food was warmer and less charred than mine. I had a burger which I asked to be medium-well, but it had a lot of char on it. My Dad ordered chicken with potatoes. We also waited about twice the amount of time I think we should have for two plates of food. Since we were kind of disappointed with our main courses, (I don't know what force lead us to believe trying their dessert out would have made things better) we ordered a dessert which was supposed to be composed of two large, WARM cookies, with ice cream between them, drizzled with chocolate syrup. What we actually got was two stale and COLD cookies with some of the largest chocolate chips that someone seemed to have accidentally poured on our dessert instead of the drizzled chocolate syrup. I didn't think it was possible to screw up dessert like this... but I could barely cut the cookies with my knife. Speaking of knife, our waitress (of which we had two, but only one seemed to care that our food was less than what we had hoped for) noticed me having a difficult time cutting the cookies, so she graciously took one dollar off of the price of our dessert. (If only she would have done that to every single item on our bill!) I left out a few small details, but those details match the let-down I've experienced above. For me, it's the little things that make or brake something. This place is simply full of the wrong kind of little things.

My husband and I ordered take-out from here on a Saturday night. I ordered the broasted chicken dinner with a side of pasta and a salad. My husband ordered the spaghetti and meatballs with a salad. We went to pick it up, brought it home, and I was very disappointed to find that my pasta side had not been included, nor had my husband's bread. The broasted chicken was decent but my husband said his spaghetti and meatballs was nothing special. The only redeeming part of the meal was the garlic dressing for my salad, very tasty! We wanted to give D'Agostino's a shot because it's new to our area, but we were left feeling not very impressed. Lesson learned: always check your carry-out order before leaving the restaurant!

Came here twice. The first time was a pretty bad experience when it comes to the waiters and hostess. When we came in the hostess wasn't even around so we weren't sure where to go finally with an attitude she came back and asked how many? When we sat down we ordered some appetizers but we asked how long it would be because well if it to just as much time as the pizza we wouldn't have bought them. She assured us the appetizers would come out quick... the pizza came out first and we had to even ask for our appetizers. We didn't mind we figure simple mistake. The food was great no complaints when it comes to that. However it wasn't even busy and the waitress wasn't very attentive to our table. For it to be a new restaurant in the area I think the managers should have a better eye on who they hire. When we left the two hostess girls were just leaning on the table talking and didn't even bother to say thank you have a good day. The next time I went my mom wanted to try it out so I took her however this time I sat at the bar! Now I forgot the guy's name but he was very nice and even told us what was the specials with the pizza!

So im updating my review because I see so many negitive reviews.I think they ridiculous! Anyways it was our 2nd time here. We went for my moms birthday and ordered 3 different pizzas, Hawaiian,Greek and our regular green olive mushrooms sausage pizza. We also got the Tuscan salad Family size which was totally impressive. The food was was great ,everyone commented on the food. The pizza crust was crisp, got delicious! Our waitress was amazing., got everything we needed, filled our beers up and even was the sweetest when we asked for a knife and plates for my moms, birthday cake. Please dont put out negative reviews on restaurants unless totally needed it can really hurt the business and we need a nice pkace like this in our neighborhood. Nothing ever last in this spot lets try and keep it!

This place is really good! I don't understand why it has so many negative reviews. I was hesitant to check it out because of all of the negative reviews but I'm really glad I did! We dined in and the service was really good, our server was very nice and attentive. I had the personal size thin crust pizza and my friend had the fettuccine Alfredo. The pizza has a really, really thin crust and a good sauce. My friend really liked the fettuccine. They also have a great beer selection. I'll be back for sure!

I was pleased to see the construction of the new location for this chain. When it opened it was fresh and inviting so I suggested we check it out for a date. Nice interior, great open air feel. Good aesthetic and nice service so a good start. Too bad the menu was so generic. I had calamari and my husband the salmon. Greasy and blah for me . Big plate little food for him. Really wanted to like this place. You can really tell when a staff loves the food. These kids couldn't have cared less. Note to owners: make this a bar with great food. Your menu needs major simplification and if you're going to say you're an Italian place you had better deliver ABONDANZA. Bad like a Dave and Busters but with nothing fun.

My father and I decided to try this place out as we live close. I'll start by saying I enjoy the open air concept and the decor was nice. I liked that they had beer available on tap, as well. While the service was not bad I have a small nit pick with the table we wanted not being clean, the hostess saying she would bring us silverware and then never bringing it. Again, small nit pick but things like fast cleanup for tables and such should be standard in any restaurant. Now here is my major bone to pick- the food. My dad and I both got burgers to which we ordered medium. They were not medium. They were Medium well to well done. Let me just ask, how difficult is it to cook a burger to order? I got the smokehouse burger and it actually has good flavor. I noticed that the fried onions on it tasted a bit stale. Speaking of which the bacon on my dad's joe's burger was not edible. It must have been old. Like OLD. Come on guys, cook your bacon to order. It's not hard. Also their fries are frozen. This really bothers me. Please take the extra time and money for fresh made fries. Your customers will appreciate it. Basically, it's not the worst food I have ever had, but it needs help. Fresh, made to order ingredients number one. Please work on your food or you won't last here! The other restaurants at this location failed for most of the same reasons. I would love to give this place another chance but the food needs to be better. Period.

I ordered from here 2x. First time the pizza was raw. I decided to order again give it another chance. I ordered Philly sandwich . it was NOT TOASTED it was microwaved. the cheese sticks were microwave as well the calazone was soggy. The burger was hard as a rock. No one at the table would finish thier food they threw it out. I hope that they can straight out what ever is going on there. Cause the place is great. But the food was not.

Well after waiting 6 months for this place to open i was greatly DISAPPOINTED.!! We ordered a small thin crust pizza just to try, it came to the table cold..the sauce was way to sweet, but the sausage what little of it was good.. Personally i like domino's thin and crispy ahell of a lot better..and for what i paid for a 10" pie here i could have gotten 2 12" at domino's..it is nice inside but i found it alittle loud for my taste..but i'm willing to give it another try this time i'll try there BROASTED CHICKEN..we'll see if it's real broasted chicken or just some deep fried garbage.. But for me i will definately not be back for the pizza ,and i had such high hopes seeing i live right down the street from there..oh well life goes on..!!

Finally something in this spot that will more then likely stay. My family and I visited on July 5 We had a good experience. The waitresses are young a little slow. But the pizza made up for it. The pizza was so yummy... What they did from the place is a huge turn around compared to Dappers that use to be there.

I called the day before to make a dinner reservation for 20 adults 6 children and they accommodated. The reservation needed to be switched for an hour earlier and they made the switch. The service was excellent our server named Kayla took great care of us, from the host to the buss boy everyone was very nice, and very helpful. She made sure to keep the drinks coming, the table clean, and the men at the end of the table refilled with beer by the pitcher. Overall it was a very nice and great experience. The food was excellent and all my guest took food home there was lots of it.... The place it reasonable in price... love it you should check them out...

15 minute wait at 7:45pm on a Saturday, not bad, I am not a wait to sit down kind of guy, I don't wait in lines for anything, but since this place has only been open 15 days I figured 15 minutes was ok. We were seated in the west side of the building by the 2nd bar, Kayla was our server, she came took our drink & appetizer order. My wife & sons drinks arrived & neither had enough ice to make them cold, I don't use ice, so it wasn't a problem in my drink. Our Calamari arrived & it was quite bland in flavor, it did not stand out. My wife ordered a 10" personal pizza, I ordered spaghetti & meatballs & our son ordered ribs. My salad arrived & it was spinach, which I am not fond of, there were 3 thin slices of cucumber & 2 paper thin slices of a cherry tomato disappointing. Food arrived, brought by what I guessed to be the busboys & we did not see our server again until our meal was over. The pizza was not crisp, the crust was soggy. The spaghetti was cooked fine, however the sauce tasted like it came directly from a can & when you order pasta, you shouldn't have to ask for bread, menu states bread by request, but with pasta you should be asked if you want it. Don't try to carry on a conversation in here either, the place is just too LOUD. We waited months for this place to open, even gave it an extra 2 weeks to work out the opening bugs, but in the end it's not a place that we'll be going back to.

My fiancé and I took our son and his friend out to eat for his 8th birthday today, (he picked this restaurant because he loves the train on the ceiling at the Cumberland & Higgins location. Wow, where do I begin? We waited 20 minutes for napkins, we received our appetizers 5 minutes before dinner and by the time our waitress came back with my refill, I was almost done with my meal. Wait, it gets better that was nothing, the waitress then explains to us that the reason why it took so long for her to bring us napkins and refills ect. is because its busy and she has other customers to wait on. Now I've never waitressed before but somethings telling me that's not what you're suppose to say to a customer! I then ask to speak to management. My son's friend had quietly whispered in my ear that his bacon from his BLT sandwich tasted "funny". The manager walks up to our table and I question him about the funny bacon taste (since that was the last thing fresh on my mind) not only was he rude about it, his response to us for the awful taste was "well it was cooked yesterday that's probably why" Oh my god I said, are you serious? He said "that's how we make it here a day in advance". I wish I could upload a video and explain everything in detail of all the horrific things that went on, but id probably be here for days. This place should be shut down.

Wow - went there Saturday night - GREAT SERVICE....GREAT FOOD...so I am giving 3 stars.....HOWEVER, the noise level was off the rickter! OMG....PLEASE fix the noise level - I ended up screaming trying to talk to my husband. Such a nice place, but until the noise is fixed, I will not be back. After a strenuous week, one needs to relax at dinner....I don't mind SOME noise, but this is crazy. I think the ceilings are too tall and everything is echoing off of it....maybe some acoustical tiles???? Just read in the Trib about new restaurants opening with noise out of control.......I call it a death wish.

Thank God this place closes early....THEE worst food in the area. We honestly thought this place would be a bright spot in the area. We thought wrong . we've tried almost everything on the menu, (don't ask...) NOTHING IS GOOD .dont waste your time. Have a beer , go eat somewhere else

Just left the place and im extremely upset! Horrible food and horribly slow service! Place was empty, we waited forever for the food and it was undercooked!! Special "Irish cabbage dish" was awful and over salted... You would think that a meal on "specials" list would be prepared correctly!

The food was not great....the prices way too high...and the kids menu is $6.95 for crappy food and that does not include a drink which is $1.50 so it's about $9.00 for a kids meal...ridiculous

    (1)
  • David G.

Ordered a medium deep dish and half of my pizza had little to no sauce on it, there were also multiple slices with zero pepperoni on them even though I paid an extra two bucks for the extra ingredient. This is a sad excuse for a pizza.

  • Scott S.

  • Bonnie T.

Welp... as we sit here waiting for our new pizza (yes, new... as in the second one today), i figured i'd write a review on this "new neighborhood place" we just ordered from.

Welp... as we sit here waiting for our new pizza (yes, new... as in the second one today), i figured i'd write a review on this "new neighborhood place" we just ordered from.

Finally something in this spot that will more then likely stay. My family and I visited on July 5 We had a good experience. The waitresses are young a little slow. But the pizza made up for it.

We've had their thin crust pizza, wings, veggie wrap, and ribs and loved all of it! The food was quickly delivered well under the hour. We are definitely going to continue to order from here.
